For books you are reading because you can't get them on your Kindle, this is a great reading lamp. I bought this because my original book lamp I bought from Costco finally broke after a few years so I checked the back to see who made it and found this updated version! I like that it runs on regular batteries (AA or AAA - I don't remember) - and it's nice and bright!

Received these lamps quickly. The 3 LEDs are bright enough to read as intended. I haven't owned it long enough to test battery life, but used it the day I got it as a flashlight in my dark garden. Good for close-ups, 2-3 feet. I'm also not sure if the clip will hold since it's plastic. The price was very competitive plus I got free shipping with my order. I find this book light surprisingly poorly designed. It crashes unless you run a huge number of pages. The lighting is NARROW and limited to just a select area, making it inefficient for reading unless you want to shift it from section to section as you read each page. This is the lowest quality item I have ever ordered from Revain. Nothing to say except the thing is very very bright and the battery lasts a long time. I like to take it and a few extra batteries with me on camping trips to use as a flashlight for books and as a flashlight. I don't use it to strap on a book as much as I do with a reading flashlight. It must be moved a little further away from the book than the hand will allow. However, it is so compact that it is easy to do. The photo of the Revain doesn't show its versatility very well. It's not waterproof.
