Description of Carter M6737 Mechanical Fuel Pump

Built to meet or exceed OEM fit and reliability and 100% factory tested and approved. Ideal for vehicles with low pump pressure between 4 to 6 PSI. Less susceptible to contaminates because its located outside the fuel tank. In-Line pumps are driven by the camshaft, which effectively transfers fuel from the tank to the carburetor.

Perfect fit for my 1980 CJ7!

A few years ago I repaired my engine and it worked like a dream. Recently, during a trip to the hardware store, my 1980 CJ7 began intermittently jerking and spattering. I immediately thought the carburetor needed adjustment or was leaking. After testing, when I returned home, this was not a problem. Then I started with the fuel pump, it only cost 20€ and lo and behold, after installing a new fuel pump it worked great! My 2 year old son LOVES the Jeep and was VERY happy to see it start again!
