Description of 🔧 Carter P72118 Fuel Pump and Strainer Kit

Built to meet or exceed OEM fit and reliability and 100% factory tested and approved. Includes patented Clean Screen strainer, which provides up to 40% greater dirt-holding capacity than the next-best competing strainer, providing longer life with less clogging. Solid silver fuel sender contact design provides better electrical conductivity, extending sender contact life while providing resistance to corrosive fuel blends and additives. Armatures are over molded for optimum balance and long life, reducing turbulence with added armature wire protection. Most applications include the necessary accessories such as tank seals, patented high-gradient density strainers, and wiring harnesses.

No sieve! for spare parts

No screen as stated in the description. I had to find a suitable one at the dealership. But the pump seems to be working. Will be updated if problems arise.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Weight

Good pump but no filter.

The pump is excellent. Used mine on a 2006 Polaris 700 efi. But. NO FILTER INCLUDED. It will cost you another $6-10 at the auto parts store.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Functionality

For 2009 Polaris Sportsman 850

Used for 2009 Polaris Sportsman 850. Prior to this pump, it was blocking vapor at high altitude. Now no problem. Don't even squirt. Not a direct fit, but very easy to install. No cutting.

  • Weight
Cons
  • So So

Not what is in the box!

Not what is in the package! The kit didn't come with a screen which set me back even more and having to do my own research to find one locally, defeating the purpose of ordering online. You should have believed those reviews.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Made my 08 Ranger roar again

Our 08 Ranger has finally stopped running. First it starts and goes out when cold. The same then happened in the warmer months. Before it completely stopped working, you had to hit the gas to get it going. You don't have to pull the tank to access the assembly. Removing the pump collar was painful but doable. The first pump I bought started failing after 7 months. The seller replaced my door in no time.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Cater Electric Fuel Pump

This worked great for my application even though it wasn't on my parts list. It was a car pump but I used it on my 2006 Polaris Sportsman ATV. The Polaris repair manual said I should replace the entire fuel tank along with the in-tank pump for $500-$600. I read about this pump as an alternative replacement on an ATV forum and in fact it worked great. A little elbow grease and I'm back on the trails.

Pros
  • High test results for support and durability
Cons
  • boring packaging

Inaccurate Product Image

The pump image provided by Revain on its website is inaccurate. The pump I received (Carter P72118) looks completely different, but worked reasonably well with the mounting modification as a pump replacement in a 2007 Polaris 500 EFI. The filter that came with it had the connection in the middle, not in the Revain picture. I needed a filter that mounted on the side as shown in the picture and that was one of the main reasons I ordered from Revain but made the one I got work. The pump works…

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Problem

I believe this has solved my issues and would recommend this product

Hi, I have a 2006 Polaris 800 Sportsman and have been having issues with spatter, flashbacks and loss of power after about 4 hours of continuous use on 3 occasions. . After some thorough research, I found that replacing the stock fuel pump with this might solve the problem. Since installing this fuel pump, I've driven a number of times with just one, albeit for a longer period of time (4 hours). I only gave 4 stars because I didn't try it multiple times. I believe this has solved my problems…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Unsure
