No waste, very convenient, easy to use.

I love these feed bags. I bought another horse and the first thing I bought for him was an appraisal. Each horse gets their own, it's easy to prepare feed bags and put heads in them. They quickly learn what it is and even my horses who don't like having their ears or faces touched are ready for feedback. I feel like I wasted thousands of pounds of grain before I started using feed bags.

Perfect size and shape

This bag is fantastic! If you're planning on trying the poop bags, just do yourself a favor and order this one. It's a net, so when they go out to drink water, it won't keep the water on the ground when they lift their heads. It's wide enough that their jaws are unconstructed and not too deep (I've had other brands where it almost covered their eyes when they put their heads down). If you're feeding large amounts of grain or soaking alfalfa, feed bags probably aren't for you. But if you'reโ€ฆ

Grain Traps Recently Redesigned

I have been using and loving Cashel Feeders for over 6 years but unfortunately they have recently been redesigned to make them less useful. Instead of a smooth seam between the sides and the bottom, there is now a fabric hem around the bottom. My guess is that it should improve durability (which I found to be pretty good), but it does capture the grain underneath. When the horse has done its best, I have to take the pouch off, shake it, clean it under the lip with my fingers, and put it backโ€ฆ
