Very plush and stuffed, soft on the outside and high quality soft faux fur on the outside. Washes well in cold water/tumble dry on low speed. My old kitty loves it and the neutral color looks great. This bed is great for pugs but a bit small for a 25 pounder (he likes to stretch out and has long legs). The 12 pound pug thinks this is the best bed ever made, especially when it's on a full size bed (princess pea style). Pushkin sleeps in about 17 different positions on this bed, all of which appear to be comfortable. I like neutral colors (makes it unobtrusive on the living room floor where I put it by the fireplace because Pushkin is a spoiled kitty). We just received this bed today and I don't think it will work. I read other reviews but hoped they fixed the uneven issue. They have not. We bought this as a starter bed for our 8 week old 3 lb puppy. She can't get in because the furry butt makes it too high from the overcrowding and when she tried to get out he flipped her. I don't think this is a suitable bed for a cat. I originally ordered this bed because I liked that it was fluffy and reversible. One side is more fluffy to provide warmth in winter and the other side is NOT fluffy to keep your cat from overheating in summer.
