Cool idea but hard to use

They were plastic and had a hollow back. I may have misread the description but I thought they were metal. They don't have enough weight to do half of what they said. Grinding is difficult because I can't get enough force to pull the meat and you absolutely can't lift a piece of meat with them because they slip over your knuckles and you lose your grip. I have small hands and cannot use them. They bought them for my boyfriend though and they are difficult to use even for his big hands.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Sad hardware

While some people use a picnic roast or pulled pork butt (PP), I used a much leaner Costco-style fillet in a multi-pack. They cook well but stay very firm when cooked, unlike high-fat cuts. So making pulled pork is extra tricky, but with a little effort with these scissors you can have a great pulled pork. You are more than strong enough to handle this tough job. Other PR cuts and pig ass are child's play for them. And then you can put the top shelf in the dishwasher and don't have to worry…

It should be!

Do you smoke meat and want to shred it efficiently? These are the claws for you! I must warn you to be very careful with those claws. You can really hurt yourself if you're not careful! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Don't let your little kids handle these claws! They are not toys and must be stored properly to avoid injury. I smoked a pork leg and had to put it in the fridge because I didn't have time to grind it. Since the meat was cold I thought it would be difficult to cut (take apart) but I was…

Mom says they are great and wants more.

I bought this for my mother. She cooks for her church. Shredded pork is one of the great products they make for a variety of uses. I've seen many pork tenderloins go through them and I'm familiar with the process. Sometimes I make shredded pork and a couple of forks work great. I thought she could use them, although she prefers "old school" methods in many ways, especially cooking. She called me the other day and wanted to know where I got it from. She said they were amazing! The grinding…

Works great - great disclaimer

Products work as expected. I was a little wary when I realized they were plastic, but after prolonged use they are just as strong and sharp as day one. citrus peel? About a day after I placed the order (before they arrived) I received an email from the manufacturer thanking me for the purchase. They also warned me not to wear them and pretend to be Wolverine from X-Men. They admitted, yeah, it's pretty damn cool. They just wanted to remind me that the claws are really sharp and can do serious…

I feel like a pro!

Down south, pulled pork is a staple on the menu at every restaurant, wedding and family picnic. I'm not Martha Stewart so I was nervous when it was my turn to cook this special family meal. While lots of tips have helped me safely get through the seasoning and cooking, I've had a terrible time actually "stretching" the pork into the right little pieces. easy separation of the meat. I didn't know what I was looking for because I didn't know meat claws existed! I was so happy that I accidentally…

Amazingly helpful

So yeah. These things look a little childish. I confess, when I first saw them I was less interested in how they worked and more interested in how wearing them would make me feel like a fat middle-aged superhero. I even had a laugh along with Alton Brown who made fun of them in a recent video (don't know if he was that brand or not). But when I was on a business trip, my wife still ordered them for me. You know what. I like her. I know, the unitasker, the candy in the box, the magnet in the…
