Design Engr: Hey. Check out this switch I designed. I bet the boss won't approve of this since it doesn't fit the standard Decora switch plate. Colleague: The boss is absent today. Constructor: Nice! I'll take it straight to production.

Will not fit a standard bezel if installing in an existing box. I put a standard cover on my face, not perfect but not too noticeable. I also mixed up some wires so the OFF button turns the fan off completely and you don't have to dial the speed settings to turn the fan back on.

Fairly flimsy and NOT a standard size for electronics. I had to burn off two ambiguous tabs on the back of the switch that would otherwise interfere with screwing the switch to the mounting box. My wall plate (for the fan/light combo and two separate dimmers) had to be enlarged to accommodate the new fan/light switch. Too much McIvering for me. I live in rural America, so I decided to change the installation rather than trade it in for a standard UL listed device.

Was very difficult to install over the old one I was replacing. I knew what I was doing, but it wasn't done very well. It was connected for barely a minute when I twisted the knob and it immediately broke. I'll have to use some epoxy to try and fix the nob. However, it works. It just wasn't that easy to install, and the quality wasn't the best either. The price seemed a bit high for something of this quality. But it will do the job for now. hope it lasts

This review is for a device with a remote control in the shape of a small egg with a receiver. The device works well and controls the fan speed. However, I cannot dim the light. I have tried both incandescent and dimmable LEDs but they are ON/OFF only. The instructions don't say how to control the brightness, so I leave the light button on like my other dimmable fan remotes I've had for years. I bought these because they were simple and did what I needed. Nowhere in the description did I see that a standard wall plate wouldn't work. Apparently the wall panels are property of the switch, so they need to be placed in a separate block. I used them to control the lights and fan on the ceiling fan separately. I found the switches very easy to understand and hook up. The wires have been individually marked to make it easier to keep them straight. Time will tell of course, but the switches appear to be of decent build quality and should last a long time. The only downside was that the screw holes for attaching the switch to the box weren't standard. There is a small tube that, if left in place, keeps the switch out of the box and
