Keeps chicks cozy

Uses two instead of heat lamps in homemade motion-activated chicken coop heaters. (see photo). 100 watts each works well in place of incandescent bulbs. No temp control and can't speak to durability but so far so good. The lamp base A10 is ideal for standard outdoor spotlight lights. The chickens seem to like it too.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not as fat as others

Good work! Beware of burns!

These parts will keep you warm! They do their job very well. I use them with caution around children. They don't put out the light, but they look like lightbulbs. Two of my children got burned on it. I think they don't see the light so forget it's very hot! The heating is not controlled. At least not on the bases where we have them.

Pros
  • Chic design
Cons
  • Exchange possible

An extremely short life

All four burned out within a few days. I bought them in February as a non-light source of heat for my reptiles. I had packs of 60w and 100w bulbs and was perfectly happy with them within the first month. Then the first one came out. I swapped it out for an incandescent bulb and after three days I noticed that the other one stopped working. Made the same exchange. Then two left on the same day. It was funny. I bought them in February and they were all burned out by mid-April.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • A few mistakes

The lamps are ok, the built-in thermometer didn't work at all.

It came with a thermometer which was very, very cheap and didn't work, never turned on. The lamps are warm as they should be, but unfortunately for me they are not warm enough for the room. I'm heating a large hedgehog cage with hard clear walls and I can get it up to 77 so I need 150 watts. No fault of this seller or company in any way. If you can store your lightbulb in a smaller case or over a shorter cage cover then this is a great buy, save for the thermometer which was just a toss up.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Something else

One worked! Cool fever thermometer!

One of the two lamps I received was DOA. Whoever is doing the work is doing a great job of keeping my hedgehog nice and warm. The included thermometer is rather limited in functionality, but it works, it helped me to find out where to best place the heat lamp. It's only been a few days so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this lasts for a while! This is obvious, but the bulb gets very hot. Do not touch it after heating, even with protection it can easily melt through the material it comes in…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Hard to say

Ceramic lamps are better than bird warmers

brood plates are my number one choice for raising chickens. When I don't have a spare plate for an incubator or when I need to heat an adult bird in inclement weather, this is what I need. A 100w bulb in a brood hood will produce a more comfortable and MUCH SAFE heat than a 250w bulb. Other advantages are that your birds can sleep at night without emitting light, energy savings and again SAFETY. 250w heat lamps cause thousands of home and barn fires, loss of property, human and animal life…

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • volume

I love ceramic bombs! If you have a large aquarium, look no further!

This is the second ceramic bulb our family has purchased. The first was black and it worked amazing. When I saw that they were white I was worried there would be a difference. However, there was no difference. These lightbulbs are amazing! It gets warmer than any lightbulb we bought at the store for our snake tank! They don't dim the light like some other heat lamps, but they still heat up the aquarium much better than those cheap incandescent bulbs. My snakes love to bask in the heat! I would…
