Keep trying, go forward, not backward.

I bought a pair of these from BBB about 4 years ago. They appear to be clones of a previous purchase; but these, though shiny and new, do not seem to last very long. Multiple falls from the fridge (with no one around) reduced her ability to grind spices. I can only assume the magnets aren't as strong as the others (or previous models) for reasons unknown, as well as their grinding abilities. Such a wonderful concept though. Cute, magnetic and yet fully functional. Should be executed better.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • For seniors

Great product and so comfortable just wish it didn't explode

I have to give this product 5 stars because it was very useful. Being able to grind fresh pepper onto steaks with one hand while rubbing it in and turning the steaks with the other is amazing. I even gave them to my friends who love to cook. Unfortunately, a little over two years after the purchase, the bottom cracked and the pepper scattered everywhere. I still give it 5 stars and will buy another one to replace because two years is pretty good considering how many peppers I've missed in that…

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Not like the old ones

I had one of these a few years ago and it was amazing until it fell into a tin full of minestrone. Finally found and loved it as it is one of the coolest designs and easy to use. Well, not so much this specific model or detail. It's incredibly weak, no matter how rough you get you only get a medium or harsh squeak, and sometimes it doesn't squeak at all. It just slides back and forth on the peppercorns. Incidentally, the peppercorns they contain are so old-fashioned that they are crumpled…

Pros
  • How everything is still
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Functional but not durable

I bought these because I needed an option that would mount to the side of the fridge (about 30cm above the counter) and be higher than my desk. The grinder part works well, although I would have liked to have dispensed a little more salt/pepper at once, but I can live with a few extra taps in exchange for the magnetic functionality. Unfortunately the magnets are quite strong which I would like and within the first week the peppercorn hit, fell off the fridge and broke, spilling the peppercorns…

I've had 2 good years with it

I've been using it for 2 years and it's very handy for seasoning meat as I don't have to keep both hands clean to operate it. I did experience some of the misalignment ('handles broken') mentioned by other reviewers in the beginning, but that was the result of the lid not closing properly. The instructions say to align the arrows at the top. It's hard to do and I need my friend to do it for me. Once properly aligned, I never had any problems with it again. Unfortunately the base is broken - the

Functional but unreliable

I bought these because I needed an option that would attach to the side of the fridge (about 30cm above the counter) and be raised with my workspace can. The grinder works well, although I wish it had a bit more salt/pepper at a time, but I'll do with a few extra taps in exchange for the magnetic functionality. Unfortunately the magnets are as strong as I wanted and within the first week the pepper hit, falling off the edge of the fridge and shattering, spilling peppercorns all over the kitchen

Pros
  • High test results for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Handles keep slipping

We LOVE freshly ground pepper. We had another pepperball for years and loved it so when it broke I had to buy another one. As advertised, it was filled with pepper, so I opened the lid and poured in more pepper as it ran out. Not too heavy as said elsewhere the top and bottom arrows are small but it wasn't too heavy. This ensures that when you squeeze the handles, you push against the grinder. However, when we started using it, after a few clicks, the mechanism slipped and you have to unscrew…
