Chemical Guys BUFX_202 Hex-Logic Polishing Hand Applicator Pad Review

At first I was annoyed that I paid too much for the mat. For some reason I thought it was 3 for the advertised price. Anyway, I used a pad for the first time today and it worked great. Helped me use a lot less product and apply a very nice thin even coat. I've used microfiber pads before. From now on I only use styrofoam.

I bought this to use with Chemical Guys V32 Optical Grade Extreme Compound. As in my other review for the V32, I've used them both to remove paint and paint marker from my machine with great results. Working by hand took more effort and time, but I think it was worth it. The combination of these two products has really made my car that much better. Now all I have to do is buy a v38 to make my car shine again!

This manual applicator is very handy. It's comfortable, feels good in the hand and the hexagonal pads do a great job of evenly applying the products I've used it on. So why only four stars? The depth of the pads isn't as deep as I would like and the foam just feels cheap. I know these are pretty weak reasons to lose a star, but that's just me. I bought this because it was supposed to make hand polishing my car more efficient. I have fully discovered that this is NOT the case. It's just a fancy sponge. I ended up switching to a terry fabric which I thought would do the job better. I actually ordered a different paste polish (as opposed to the liquid kind I used in this app) that I will be using on another car in the near future. I will try this paste sponge again and change my rating if it works better with this other type of polish…

I've polished two cars with this and couldn't be happier. Once used, you no longer have to use those little store-bought applicators. Very comfortable to hold and soft so will not scratch paintwork. The hexagonal shape spread Collinite 845 really well and didn't soak up much of the product so it was very easy to clean. Chemists have launched another excellent product. I have a black BMW m3 that shows dirt just by walking by. But it's a nice car, so it needs regular cleaning. Enter the pharmacies. I have a black car kit and this little guy. When used to apply black car shine and oil wax, it will blow your mind.
