Perfect for baby hats

I use bamboo needles a lot so I know what to expect from the material. Most of the time it's not that short! I am pleasantly surprised at how easy they are to work with and how well made they are. The only downer for me is that my already loose tension is eased with these short needles. Something about a looser grip, maybe with fewer fingers than a longer needle, but I've already scaled down so I'll be fine. These needles were ok the first half of two projects

These needles were ok the first half of two projects but the wood is not very smooth and through the third (I have 2 wrists and 2 leg warmers on to same time) project they started to catch yarn. I had to knock off a few open fragments and fight with the remaining heating pads. They were also very difficult to handle for a long time, but that can only be the nature of beasts with such small needles. I'll probably invest in a much better pair if I keep doing projects like this, but they end up in

undersized. Needle size US #7 4.35mm instead of 4.5mm

I recently bought this because I needed 12" #7 circular needles for a baby hat pattern. After about 1/3 of the way I was able to do that measure knitted piece accurately and it turned out to be a smaller size so I canceled the pattern size "baby" on dpns and restarted which came out almost right I just got my needle out to try boot cuffs to make and it looked small for a size 7 so I got out my caliper which I use for woodworking and measured the needles they are really small at 4.35mm but…
