An indispensable appliance in the kitchen and dining room

This is the second appliance I own. I love using it for cupcakes and pancakes. Make sure the owners clean the mechanism that opens and closes at the bottom well. My first one broke because I didn't clean it well enough and some dough got stuck inside, it dried up in the bottom fold. The next time I tried to pull the handle, it stuck like glue and broke. Definitely my fault but that can easily happen if you don't pay enough attention to cleaning.

Seems cheaply made for special tools and gadgets

I don't know if it's worth the price. First it arrived damaged. I noticed that someone else posted a similar photo, which means there is a problem somewhere, with the packaging or with the lid itself. Second, everything is plastic except for the metal part in the handle. I don't expect it to last very long as it seems cheap but we'll see. For the price they charge I would expect a little better quality, especially with a name like Chicago Metallic. I will update when it gets better and takes…

I've been using it for 9 years now!

Great tool for the kitchen. I mostly make pancakes out of it, but sometimes cupcakes too. Never any problems. I wanted to check when I bought mine so I could give my friends the same type for housewarming and saw I bought mine 9 years ago. And I still cook pancakes with it. Pros: Easy to use and no leaks. Cons: Cleaning the spout at the bottom is a chore and a bit difficult to clean. I soak mine to make it easier and use hot, hot water. However, I would very much like to buy it again if it ever

NOT for a car cup holder - don't buy for it

very sorry I spent money on it. I bought these to line up the cup holder in my car because I read that putting a silicone muffin tray in the cup holder will keep your cup holders clean. Spring. THEY HAVE NOT WORKED FOR THIS PURPOSE. They are too small and when I try to stretch them they just tear. I spent money on her. They might work for cupcakes, but don't let them line your car's cup holder because they won't work for that purpose. They tear very easily and are too small for even a standard…

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • some trouble

Works great. I cook a lot of pancakes and freeze them for a quick breakfast. This greatly simplified the process. It took a few uses to speed up the time and I ended up with pretty smooth pancakes. I originally gave this product 5 stars. However, the handle broke after minimal use. The clear plastic is broken at the bottom, it's still attached at the top, the spring-loaded red part that actually retracts to allow the batter to flow is still intact, but with the handle broken, it only retracts…

Great purchase, love them.

I love using them - I use them to bake muffins, muffins, cheesecake and frozen treats. They are very versatile and useful in the kitchen. The browns are surprisingly tough compared to the orange-purples, but that's no big deal - they all stand up and make great baked goods. They are quite difficult to clean - I had to wash them. The best method I've found is to fill a bowl or plate with hot, soapy water and soak for a few minutes, then clean it. They like to stick to small bits in the folds…

CHEAPLY MADE.PASS: Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

As a Chicago Metallic, you'd think these things would be premium. Not as much. They often arrive broken. They break easily. We had cases of it that we had to throw away. My wife and I are the only ones who bake for our cupcake shop. That's what we use. If the engineers just ripped their heads out of their you-know-what and put everything together so the tips of the handles didn't break, that would be awesome. We've given Chicago Metallic thousands of dollars through bakeware and other quality…

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
