Chinese Calligraphy Sumi Brush Writing And Painting Set By Teagas Review

A very beautiful set.I was recommended to buy a calligraphy set by a native Japanese to help me practice and memorize kanji. I proceeded to buy this kit and it came exactly as described.This is my first set of calligraphy products, so I cannot compare the quality to other products, but everything looks and feels well designed.Would definitely recommend to other.

This is beyond a starter set. The brushes, like many new ones do, shed a few hairs on initial use. I used General Brush Cleaner for the initial softening. There is a nice sized seal stone, that alone is worth the purchase price. Ink stone, rest, pots, ink are all nice. I am new to this method of 'paint drawing' and I will likely buy 'better' brushes as I continue with this medium, but everything else is more than suitable for it's purpose. I am an art student and more than pleased.

There are no instructions. It is advertised as "a beginner set" yet there is nothing to show me how to use the set.

Bought this for my daughter's friend. They recently took a class together learning to draw bamboo and cherry blossom trees. This was such a fun birthday gift and the packaging looked special. Her friend said the kit works great.

Except for the stamp and the red seal, the inkstone is too small. The tip of the brush is rough and easy to split. It''s a good set for beginners however research beforehand cuz it comes with no instructions..

Very nice set with high quality materials and box. The only reason I gave it 4, instead of 5, stars is because it doesn't come with instructions. Otherwise, happy with the purchase. I would buy from this seller again.

This is a great set, especially for the price. It comes in a nice case and has everything you need for a starter set (besides the ink and the paper). I bought this as a gift and was very tempted to keep it for myself.

I started a new sumi-e painting class and bought this so I could easily take it back and forth. For that it works fine. But the ink well is not the right kind so I can't use that. The ink clock and brushes are fine.

This set was so gorgeous and I love the case it came in. So beautiful and full of detail for such a great price. Great beginners set for those wanting to practice and non expensive. Beautiful and well packaged. .I would give 5 stars if there was a color options for the box and a written tutorial about each item in the package and some examples of how to use the brushes. .a novice user will want to find instructions elsewhere if they order this.

Perfect for very beginner! My daughter loves learning about Chinese calligraphy while she studies Mandarin. The brushes are not durable and tend to lose bristles easily.

My daughter was so excited to receive this- it was her favorite gift! I would rate 5/5 but there were no instructions for beginners. Perhaps a link indicating use of all the tools would be helpful. Very good gift for the artistic person!

I gave this as a gift to someone who is learning Chinese. He loved it and it's great for amateurs but we are SO very amateur that it would have been nice if it came with instructions on what everything is for and how to use them properly!
