I bought these to store flour and sugar for long periods (1 or 2 years) and expected them to be airtight but they are not airtight nor watertight. I'll try using duct tape around the seal and hopefully that helps. I filled it with water and put the lid on, turned it on its side and the water flowed easily onto the container with no pressure. It's a lot to pay for a product that says it's waterproof and airtight. If you're storing food, it won't work.

Advertised as leakproof. Well, it's not, and there's a shape defect on the rim, just above the tongue. It's about .004 inch deep and about 3/4 inch long and you can feel it with your finger. This is an error in the mold used to mold the plastic. Otherwise, if you don't need an airtight bucket, that's fine. Very clear so you can see what's inside and fairly sturdy with reinforced areas for the grip. I need the stock to be air and liquid tight. So not using petroleum jelly on the defect or tape…
