These are pretty nice curtains, they exist but the quality doesn't make up for the misrepresentation. It's not a power outage. If you sleep during the day, this will not work for you. It's just thick curtains. They might work if you only have neighbors who leave the lights on at night, but otherwise if you want to block the sun forget it. I hate giving such low ratings because they are pretty cute but I stand by my opinion. Sell what you say.

My husband is very sensitive to light when he goes to bed, so the rooms need to be completely dark. Our vertical blinds broke and we couldn't raise the curtain until morning. He has a sleepless night and when we put the curtain up everything was perfect! Below these opaque ones I get a transparent one so I can catch the sun's rays during the day but still keep out direct sunlight. Would recommend them to anyone who needs great blackout curtains, they work!

First of all, yes they definitely darken the room (at least the dark gray ones). Unfortunately, they insulate poorly against the heat compared to multi-layer curtains. One of the illustrations of this product (and, to be fair, some of the other so-called "thermal curtains") shows three layers. Here there is only one. We're painting our teenage daughter's room a different color and I need blackout drapes, and fast! I stumbled across them and the reviews are a bit confusing.
