The part of the brush that the hair goes around is only 3/8 inch in diameter. The handle itself is 1/2 inch in diameter. It looks like a baby brush. But it's great if you have short hair, you can probably get a lot of volume with it. The bristles are soft and do not damage the hair. I can only use it for bangs as the rest of my hair is too long.
