Excellent laptop WiFi adapter

The Linksys WPC54G laptop adapter is a pleasure. In combination with the Linksys WRT54G wireless router, G speeds of up to 54 MB/s are possible. I found the signal strength to be excellent throughout my home, spanning 2 floors and 2,000 square feet. The adapter itself is quite small and unobtrusive. This requires a PCMCIA port on your laptop and very little else. With Windows XP's Zero Network Configuration feature, I was able to connect and surf the Internet in just 10 minutes. If you have…

Pros
  • , understandable even for the old one
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Good Wireless-G Adapter at a Great Price

The Cisco-Linksys WPC54G Wireless-G Laptop Adapter was purchased to add network and internet access to an old Toshiba Satellite 2105CDS laptop. Installation was easy, and the included drivers on the CD worked right out of the box without getting the latest updated drivers from the Cisco Linksys website, although I downloaded and zipped them in case I needed them when I went later encountered problems. The upgrades made to this laptop were a 128MB memory upgrade, a larger and faster 120GB PATA…

Installation Odyssey

I ordered a Linksys WRT54G router through Revain along with an accompanying PCMCIA WPC54G card for my Gateway Solo laptop. My goal was simply to carry Comcast digital cable access in my 2,000 square foot home at the faster 802.11g speeds. I wanted to surf the Internet from the comfortable sofa in the TV room or the cozy armchair in the living room. My choice is no wires. I've never installed a network, so I lost a lot of literature, Revain reviews and other sources of information: I just went…

Worked great: Networking products

I bought a G-Set which is all Linksys - a router, a PCI card and a card for my laptop. Here is my hardware setup: Machine 1: WIN 98 First Edition; 400MHz PII, lots of RAM; DesktopMachine 2: WIN 98 First Edition; 233MHz, moderate RAM; Desktop computer 3: WIN 2000; lots of speed and RAM; LaptopRouter: Great product. I hooked it up to machine 1 and it was up and running in under 5 minutes, including the hardware. I did NOT use the supplied software, but configured the router via the web interface.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Annoying
