I like that they are non-toxic and only the melamine they are made from gives them their cleaning power with no additional chemicals/detergents required. Many years ago I saw Mr. clean. Yes, they are effective. I don't know if you can call them magic. They require very little elbow lubrication. They are equal in these aspects.
