Extra-long length drill bit reaches farther and drills deeper than a jobber or long length drill bit. High-speed steel (HSS) provides hardness for wear resistance. Black oxide finish reduces wear while promoting chip and coolant flow on ferrous materials. Self-centering 118-degree notched point penetrates material more easily than a conventional point without a pilot hole, and maintains a sharp cutting edge. Drill bit conforms to ANSI standards. Made in the USA.

Disappointing Notched Drill Bit

My analysis of this product showed that it is not as durable as claimed .Despite its notched design, it failed to deliver consistent cuts on various materials..

The 5/8 " bit is expensive but the quality is excellent

I was expecting the 5/8" bit to have a 1/2" shank so it would have no problems fits into a standard 1/2" drill chuck. I've looked for shank sizing information but can't find it on Revain's website or the manufacturer's website. Luckily my drill chuck opened wide enough to use the drill. I suggest not ordering drills until you know the shank size.
