Closetmaid 12PK - White Down/Wall Clip - #7546

One of the rear clips used to attach the shelf to the wall. It can be used in drywall or screwed to a leveling wall stud to hang shelves for later attachment, and the new U-clamp is designed to attach securely to prevent shelves from slipping out or falling over.

  • Feel Good
Cons

Exact replacement for anchor

These were great for replacing a broken hook. The rack was installed by someone else, and after three years of heavy use, the clamp broke. We didn't have spare parts on hand so I bought them and they worked. They are identical to the ones we originally had and now we have a few spares.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some little things

Clips don't fit shelf

I bought these because I removed the shelf to paint the cabinet. I know the clips will fit the shelf because I can attach one to the end. However, I can't even hammer the clamp onto the shelf - they don't have the ability to open wide enough to secure the shelf. What should have been a 15 minute project is now going to take hours because I need to find something suitable. And the clips are identical to the ones on the shelf when I took them off.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Some issues

Technically they work but are still very imperfect. The shelf takes a lot of effort to "push in" at first, but then it slides out much more easily. When you use the included wall anchors, the force required to push the pole in actually begins to pull these super weak anchors off the wall. I would recommend mounting them in a stud at every opportunity. If it's not a stud, maybe buy some good anchors instead.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

I don't like Closetmaid but they help keep it functional

In my previous home I designed solid wood shelving and my builder made them and spoiled me. Then I sold this house and bought my dream house, which I like very much. But this 25 year old and wired Closetmaid shelf I don't like because little things fall through it and leave wire marks on everything that's on it. I solved this problem by installing custom acrylic panels on top of the shelves, but every time you move the shelf the brackets holding it break. These replacement clips are easy to use

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • A few little things

Doesn't work well for servant shelves in closet

The original clips broke and I bought them to replace. Although they are the same as those sold in traditional retail stores, NONE fits on the shelves, even the shelves sold in traditional retail stores. In fact, I had a Lowe's employee attach one of the clips to the shelf, with great difficulty and damage to the shelf's plastic cover. None of them fit the slightly larger front shelf wire, meaning I couldn't replace the clip holding it to the mullion of my closet system, which is exactly the…

Pros
  • This is great

  • Some bugs

They work great! - Fixings

My old brackets holding my top shelf in the kitchen broke, the shelf fell onto another shelf and some things fell on the floor. They were about twenty years old, so they had to be replaced. These did their job well. The old ones had a plastic ring around the nail which made them the hardest to get out, but the hole for that plastic was the same size as the new ones so it worked fine. I wasn't sure what happened when I walked out in the morning after the old clips broke. Items from the top shelf
