Good for some things but not others

I wanted to use this to mark the center of the cross stitch Aida fabric. It didn't come out. Luckily the pattern covered it up - I knew it hadn't washed off because I'd also marked another part of the fabric outside of the pattern and it was still there after I washed the finished piece. Also, the word "silver" is a bit of a misnomer - the mark it leaves is a very, very dark grey, almost black. I've also used it to mark lines on the back of fabric to cut bias strips for quilting and it's great…

Fine lines for precise marking

I bought this chalk pencil a while back and then took a few months off from sewing as the kids were home for the summer. It's really hard to sew when there's always a 3 year old and a 6 year old in the house! Now that school has started again, I finally have a chance to rip out some fabric and sew it together. I made a pleated skirt for my daughter and had to mark a lot of lines both to cut out the details and to mark the lines of the pleats. Wow! It was a lot better than my old tailors' chalk…

Why did it take me so long to try this?

I LOVE this marker. I've tried all the other things: pencils (needs sharpening, pulling on fabric), tracing paper (just awkward to use, you can't see where the marks are on the fabric), and chalk (like pencils). it needs sharpening, bold line, pulls on fabric and doesn't always chalk on some fabrics). I have silver and was pleasantly surprised that it showed up easily on all the fabrics I've used to make Christmas items. . Wide range of colors and designs. I've used it mainly for cotton…

I like it, but not perfect.

I like this grip. I really love this pen. This is my theme for tracing patterns on fabric. It's not perfect, which is why it gets 4 stars when I really want to give it 5. I mostly work with fleece and this grip works great with fleece. I can draw a design, then fold it several times before cutting and the design won't come off. It's easy to remove by paving it like trying to dust it off. But only white. For some reason yellow and blue (I didn't use pink) just stick. I've tried washing things…
