I got my granddaughter a sewing machine for Christmas. When I saw this leg I thought it was a "must have" as an added safety feature. I fitted it to her car and it seems to be working very well as intended. The part of the foot that is in front of the needle is high enough so that the little finger does not accidentally fall under the needle. While nothing is guaranteed, this is a positive step towards security.

I really like the needle case. The included transparent leg keeps falling off. This is a low shaft rig. Once attached, lift the sewing foot up and down to place the material and it will shift, the foot will fall off! The needle cover is holding up well. I use the 1/4 foot (metal) that came with my Babylock Zest. My 7 year old son loves his new sewing machine! This cover reduces the risk of injuring your fingers while sewing.
