Home wiring without running wires

I bought these to separate my home office from crowded home wifi while working from home. I had NO desire to run cables from the downstairs router to my top floor home office at the opposite end of the house. This technology was "new" to me (using a household outlet as the physical connection), but the nerd in me explored it. The reviews said it worked so I went for it. It honestly "just" works. Set up was exactly as stated in the simple 3 step instructions. Made. I connected to my home office…

Great product and really plug and play.

Excellent product. I had issues with our wireless system going through underfloor heating etc. I was only able to get about 40 of my 120Mbps when I was only 20 feet deep. I tried using an extension cord and it didn't help much so I tried this one instead. Transmission of the full 120 Mbit/s directly to my laptop via my existing cabling on the ground floor (hardwired from the laptop to the adapter). I could just plug a WiFi extender into the bottom of this adapter for better coverage, but…

I bought and used TP-Link AV500 Gigabit Powerline.

I used to buy and use Powerline TP-Link AV500 gigabit adapters. They worked, but not as fast as advertised. I've never been able to get more than 200Mbps from them. I recently built a new computer and placed it in a bedroom quite a distance from my home office. I decided to try this TP-Link AV1200 Gigabit Poverline Starter Kit, model TL-PA8010. I was pleasantly surprised to get 800-1000Mbps with these adapters. Compared to the ASUS USB-N10 WiFi adapters or NetGear A6100 AC600 WiFi adapters I've

Works best in software

My husband has started a new job that requires him to connect to a local area network. The only direct LAN access is in our family room, which is inconvenient as he works until 7:30pm and I usually work until 5pm. And he needs privacy for his work. I bought this and installed it in his room furthest from the router, so there wasn't a wired option. I set it up and it worked until Wednesday when it suddenly stopped, but it looks like there was a power surge in this room since his computer was…

works perfectly. gets 90Mbps

works as advertised and my son is very happy his games are no longer lagging. We have a 3 story house with our WiFi router on the middle level. The signal is sufficient for normal internet browsing around the house, but can be problematic when playing games and streaming a lot of media. I used to read about powerline solutions but never tried to implement them. This system is ridiculously easy to set up. Simply plug two boxes into the wall, then use Ethernet cables to connect the boxes to (1)…

You need it. You just don't know!

This is a review of the Powerline adapter TP-Link AV1200, Gigabit, up to 1200 MBit/s (TL-PA8010 KIT) You connect, the light bulbs light up. If so, you'll be done in less than 10 seconds. Seriously. Why I wandered around for years, crying, complaining, and trying to go wireless everywhere in the house, I don't know. Now I know about wireless; Use your electrical wires. I bought 2 sets for about $100 but it was worth it. I have a master and three outputs. my computer, PS4 and my wife's BD player…

Works much better than I expected.

This adapter works a lot better than I thought it would. There were so many wireless devices in our house that none worked properly. I used this and a small switch to connect our entertainment center devices (TV, Blu-ray, Xbox and satellite box) via ethernet to take some of the strain off our wireless network. It works so well that I regret wasting a year trying to keep our house wireless! I doubted this would work as our house is divided into two electrical nodes from the main node, each…

The review that couldn't wait.

Ordered at 7:00 AM PT. Received at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Don't let that fool you. It's as easy as plugging a cord into an outlet. (Note: Do not use an extension cord. It needs to be plugged directly into the wall. No additional setup required. It just started working. Background: I need this for my PS4 which is about 40ft from the router and has 2 hits -3 walls I get around 300Mbps with Spectrum but lower at 2.4 I can get around 40-50Mbps depending on the performance of the wireless card on…
