My husband has started a new job that requires him to connect to a local area network. The only direct LAN access is in our family room, which is inconvenient as he works until 7:30pm and I usually work until 5pm. And he needs privacy for his work. I bought this and installed it in his room furthest from the router, so there wasn't a wired option. I set it up and it worked until Wednesday when it suddenly stopped, but it looks like there was a power surge in this room since his computer was restarted. I've been doing IT for a few hours and finally got it working again. Both adapters must be connected directly to the wall. We finally put the "receiver" in a socket open to the hallway (door is closed, everything is fine). Since then it has worked flawlessly! Thanks, patient IT help!
