Lamp life is short, a month or two at best. The indicator light on the outside doesn't tell you when the bulbs have stopped working (they may still draw current but are not lit, so the indicator light is fooled). I took a chance and I'm glad I did. I have a severe dust allergy. Lately I've been having trouble breathing between wheezing and coughing. I have a HEPA air purifier, but that's not enough.
