I like this thimble when sewing

I like this thimble because it fits my finger perfectly, has a deeply curved tip and is very well made. I do a lot of hand embroidery and this is the best thimble I have found for myself.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Repairing

The best thimble ever!

Forget other thimbles, they always get in the way and the needle slips off. But not this thimble! This is the best and there is a chart on the Colonials website to help you determine the perfect size for you.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

They are oversized. It fits like a size 10 on my middle/quilting finger. I had to change my size 10 to this size 9 and am happy with the size 9 thimble. It's comfortable and I can hold my quilting needle in a way that gives me the perfect swing rhythm when handquilting.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Without automation

The best thimble for hand quilting!

In my opinion these are the best thimbles for hand quilting. I love them and hope they never stop making them. I was having trouble finding the right size so I ordered sizes 9, 10 and 11. 9 and 10 fit best and 11 was a bit big. The finger I use them on is 2 1/4 inches at the first knuckle.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Perfect for hand sewing!

I finally found a thimble suitable for hand quilting! Trust me when I say I've tried them all with less than desirable results. I am delighted to discover this colonial thimble with a raised edge. It's comfortable - I ordered a size 9 and it works great on my middle finger for pushing the needle through layers of quilting while quilting. The raised rim ensures that the needle does not slip off the end of the thimble, so your fingers no longer hurt. Perfect in every way! Love it!

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

True to size and very comfortable [Nice Fit]

Quality looks promising, this thimble will last forever. FYI, this is not an easy tool for sewing or patching holes, rather a somewhat tight one. This is a new tool for me, so at least I can write for now. I'm glad to have a thimble to protect against unwanted needle sticks as that can't always happen. :) PSI measured the circumference of my middle finger and used a ruler to measure the first and second ends of my middle finger which was 50.1cm (±0.1). So 52mm = size 6 thimble. Search the…

  • Quality construction
