Columbia Rain Zilla Jacket Bright Collegiate Boys' Clothing : Jackets & Coats Review

Handled well on a very rainy trip to the San Diego Zoo and Legoland. My kids stayed dry and the fleece lining provided an extra layer of warmth. Rolls up tightly after rain for easy backpack storage. They will work great by the end of the year. The sizing for Columbia seems to be smaller than most brands. My son who wears S in other brands wears XS in Colombia, another who wears XS wears XXS in Colombia.

We took this on a week long trip to Washington. The 7 year old's day pack takes up very little space and has a little soft padding in the neck and shoulder areas to make him comfortable. The red color made it easy to spot. In it he stayed dry in the constant light rain we ran in. The velcro straps and hood adjuster were good because we bought it with the option, letting it grow out or wearing it over a heavier jacket. warms the child more than a strong wind. This is a summer raincoat.

Great little jacket, which is to be expected for the price. Fairly good waterproofing, average on the Columbia scale. This is not a raincoat and I wouldn't recommend it for winter, no taped seams or zips but it will do for the northwest shoulder season. I love that it has a light fleece lining on the shoulders and hood so the jacket isn't a cold surface for your child's skin when it rains.
