I took it to a grinding wheel, 60 grit glassy aluminum and ONLY put it in contact and let it make contact for a few seconds max. I felt the price I paid was a bit overpriced for what you get so when I contacted them they refunded me the difference (great move Hartville Tool). After one use (two wheels on my bench grinder) the crystals were 1/3-1/2 worn making this a fairly disposable tool.
