I took the lotion and then put clean socks on my hands and they felt a lot better but they also got a lot softer. I bought this because of my arthritis. I love it. You can control the temperature. Very well done. The only thing I would definitely recommend is wearing some sort of spa glove while using it. No lid, sweaty hands. It's really good when your hands get sore and numb. I definitely recommend it.
