The ounces in the description are a bit misleading. We use it for cereal and I would say it holds a regular sized packet of cereal. I was going to return them but decided against them because they are the perfect size for kids to get their own cereal. I have had many Snapware branded products and they seem to be about the same level of quality at a much lower price. The only minor complaint I have about them is that some cereals don't come out through the spout very easily.
