Remote control via WiFi.

For remote control of a large screen TV and an attached Comcast cable box from a smartphone. Works perfectly. Very flexible. Long range > 15 feet too! Cheap solution. Plan to use it for AC units too!

Does not work with Xfinity Remotes

Does not work with Xfinity STBs. Xfinity is an option to configure STB, but does not control STB. Manual key programming doesn't work either. with Smart IR does not show how to put the device into pairing mode.

It really works

This is my fourth attempt to turn the TV on and off and control the volume with Alexa. Does what it's supposed to and isn't difficult to set up. It doesn't need to be tied to a specific hotspot or other device, but responds to any Alexa device on the network.

Good idea, not yet!

Great idea, just doesn't work yet. For example my Viewsonic projector (and most projectors) currently has a two stage shutdown (which allows the lamp to cool), nothing works with this remote. The range is impressive and this product just isn't ready for sale. I wish I could return it.

Easy setup for mains connection

I bought this to power a Panasonic room air conditioner. Fast setup; However, there are so many remote control options. I've tried several that didn't work. I scrolled through the guy's screen and found an illustration that was close and selected. Bingo the damn thing has activated my air conditioner and controls all functions of the Smart Life app, Google Home and Alexa.

Don't waste your time

No connection to smart life app, save your time and nerves by buying something better. I thought a universal IR remote would be a great addition to my smart home collection, and when I saw it for $20 I thought it was too good to pass up. The wording of the instruction doesn't match the wording in the app itself, and the item you're supposed to select in the app doesn't even exist. I suggest skipping this until you get specific instructions on how to actually use the device. I'll go back and buy

It's been 3 months and still working fine

Pretty easy setup if you're familiar with smartphone apps and Alexa configuration. It seems to have hundreds of different "profiles" to suit different TVs. Profiles map different infrared codes to different TV functions (e.g.: on, off, volume up, volume down, channel up, channel down, enter, etc.). However, after testing about 50 profiles (profiles are very easy to browse through), I couldn't find one that performed all functions perfectly.
