later works and solved engine code p0118. So P2181 is related to the thermostat where most people say replace the coolant sensor and see if the code goes away and then replace the thermostat if not. We see that there are 2 different codes here and one for each. 2181 was replaced with a new temperature and coolant sensor 6 months ago. The sensor just died so code p118 solved the problem. I hope this helps as there isn't much information on Audi and there are so many different years and models.
