This thermostat arrived within 4 days of ordering. The fit was light and perfect for my 2012 Chev Sonic 1.8L Hatchback. The throttle body heater inlet pipe was also replaced. Installation for two took 2.5 hours. Between the two, I'm now an average of 10mpg better. The Check Engine light went out after I started the engine for a minute, then shut it off, then repeated this about five times and let it sit for twenty minutes before starting again.

Works great for engine cooling and air conditioning

Would be very happy to buy again. Be sure to purchase a plastic hose that detaches from this and goes to the throttle body. I quit my damn game trying to find a local. Another note on all the reviews about hose inlets being too small and such. Factory spring clips are junk, just replace with regular clips. They wear out and lose tension after paying 25 cents for real clamps! And how many vendors do you know that offer installation instructions? Go to your local parking lot or visit me and ask…

  • Availability for exchange

At first I was nervous and skeptical about how cheap it was. In fact, at several retail stores I visited, the same part cost more than double what I bought here. It arrived within a few days and it only took me an hour to remove the old one from my car and replace it with this new one. There are no more coolant leaks and my overheat light went out. So yeah, I have to say I'm a pretty happy customer. Money and time saved (housing and thermostat shipped already assembled). Since time is money in…

Additional offer from sellers.

I only gave it 4 stars for 'easy to install' just because of where it is and what needs to be unchecked to change it. The part arrived at my house as quickly as possible and was well packaged. quality product. The seller even emailed me that if I wanted to, he would send me pages from the removal and replacement manual. The seller never did. Good for you. The price was the best. Seller was GWA Auto Parts. Incidentally, the tube attached to the top of the housing is called "ACDelco 25192905 GM…

So far so good.: Thermostat housing

Completed this task in about 2 hours, never done it before. I even had to replace a few tubes because they were all swollen. Not very difficult. Just crap with the coolant drain. And when unscrewing the old block from the block, a lot of things come out. The store couldn't take me for several weeks, I didn't want to do it myself, but I managed. It's not difficult. There are some pretty good YouTube videos to watch if you're not mechanical. I removed the overflow tank to make room and spread out

Plastic upgrade with some quirks

Great price (ACDelco brand is over $70) for this aluminum case Some design comparisons and an example of a point of failure in a plastic case: - The old plastic case almost broke the corner (pictured) - the new case has a threaded plug on the bottom instead of the o-ring and clamp like the old style (teflon tape added for extra security) - I didn't like that the temp sensor was loose on the included clamp, but did not expire. It came with a gasket between the body and the cylinder head (square…

Better quality than OEM design and save you tons of money!

Factory thermostat housing on 2012-2016 Ecotec 1.8L engines is plastic. Newer models have a redesigned version that's half plastic, half aluminum. Over time, both will crack due to excessive heat and pressure in the cooling system. OEM specs call for a 20psi radiator cap and a thermostat that does not begin to open until the coolant temperature reaches 221°F. An all-aluminum part is required to handle such loads. I am very satisfied with this product. It wasn't that difficult to install and…
