Perfect for making yogurt

A must have when making your own yogurt. It is no longer necessary to constantly check whether the temperature has dropped enough to mix the starter.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Not as good as it says it is

Defective when received

The device started flashing when the battery was turned on. I couldn't do anything to stop the blinking. After activating the batteries in the compartment, the battery cover screw does not lock the closed battery door. Avoid this device!

Pros
  • shines
Cons

I plan to buy a lot of batteries

while the cost of the device itself was okay. The fact that you can't turn it off until you remove the batteries doesn't serve our purpose. We are limited by corporate expectations. I spend $10 a week installing new batteries. I will look for an alternative. Any thoughts?

Great product - kitchen and dining room

Great product, I use it for scalding breast milk as I have too much lipase. Easy to use, easy to read. I like the little plastic piece on it as it can be used as a fake unlike the cheaper versions of the same. I'm a little worried about the batteries going dead as this is a watch that doesn't turn off, but it's been running for over a week now and I haven't had to change it yet.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No mold needed

I've been looking for a long time

I've been looking for a counting up/down temperature sensor for a long time and have read very carefully what has been said about each of them. I ended up going with this one and it worked great. The only thing I forgot is to set an alarm button when the temperature drops to the set level. I'll know better next time! I use it to make cheese and yogurt.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Six months service life, then broke

The thermometer worked perfectly for several months. When I tried using it last week, I noticed that the temperature seemed completely wrong (meat heated to 70 degrees Fahrenheit straight out of the fridge). I checked it several times and everything was wrong. I changed the batteries, switched to Celsius, played around with the possible settings; Nothing worked. It's just broken. Probably not worth the money.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • High price

Excellent oven thermometer

I had an old version of this thermometer. Only one battery required. Such a battery would last a year. One reviewer said that this new version, which uses 3 batteries, drains them quickly. It comes with 3 batteries and a small plastic tab that needs to be pulled out to turn the device on. When I'm not using the thermometer, I just put the little plastic tab back in. You simply pull out the central battery and insert it. You have to leave the back unscrewed, awkward, but at least you don't use…

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Bad set

Good thermometer with high and low temperature alarm functions.

I used this to make yogurt. The milk needs to be heated to 180F and then cooled to 115F before adding the culture. This alarm worked great! I left the pot on the fire in the care of the automatic stirrer and went back to do something else while the milk heated. When the alarm went off, I turned off the heat and let the milk cool. I set an alarm to let me know when the milk is cool enough to add the culture. The alarm signal is loud enough to be heard in the next room. Also, the light flashes…
