Cannot maintain reasonable write speed under real world conditions

Attached performance chart. This is on a laptop with the same test workload I use to test new cables or external drives. An older Samsung T3 SSD external drive can read or write at 250MB/s (with a maximum read speed of 350MB/s) on the same port with the same test files. No other workloads were running and that was on new, freshly formatted drives. As you can see in the graph, it maintains a decent (and advertised) speed (100MB/s) for some time and then does this weird sawtooth pattern whereโ€ฆ

I broke some flash drives and needed something really strong. To test this drive I went through hell to see if it would become my #1 flash drive. Tests: - They hit the wall as hard as they could. crushed the wall, but the drive worked fine - put under the car tire and drove along it, no dents and worked perfectly - left in the water for 24 hours, when opened it was dry inside, the drive worked - threw it out of the 3rd floor. Floor of building at about 50 feet, drive was scratched but workedโ€ฆ

Excellent quality, fast, very safe

I bought one many years ago before buying new ones this year, let me say the old one was a little battered and fell off the second floor. Water fell and the hidden system they got is perfect. Also, I accidentally fell out of a moving car, my little dog used it as a chew toy for a few minutes (before that, I lost 7 regular USBs because of my crazy dog). but this old one is still perfect and working. I am ordering TWO new ones because these new ones have more storage capacity, my old one stillโ€ฆ

2 broken flash drives in 6 months

I was looking for a flash drive that could take the beating. I wanted something that would withstand an accidental fall, something that could be machine washed if left in my bag, and something that would last a long time. That was it! I bought my first Survivor 5 years ago and have never had a problem with it. The only reason I bought another one was because it was 5 years old and I thought it would be good to replace it so I can be sure my flash drive will last another 5 years with noโ€ฆ

Pros
  • The best in their niche

  • The list will be long.

Good quality, small quirks in design

After some searching, this is probably the most secure EDC flash drive you can find. Mainly because the interface components are truly 100% sealed and housed in an all-metal case. Waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and dropproof. In terms of physical integrity, I'd say this is the pinnacle of flash drives. There have been several reviews of people ripping off a flash drive after removing the aluminum cover, and at this point I'd say it's up to you because once you "bare" it, it's no differentโ€ฆ

  • One year trial

  • Available in white only
