These shoes are very comfortable and my son loves them. But unfortunately the stitching holding the velcro to the side came undone the first day my son used the shoes! Yes, on the first day! Unfortunately I didn't read the other reviews before buying the shoes. And just reading it, I realized that few others were complaining about the same problem. This clearly shows that there are manufacturing issues in the design of this shoe.

My son is 8 years old and slim/medium build. I ordered size 1 after reading the reviews and they are perfect for the space I need. I was a little worried they might rub the small gap around his toes on his heels, but after a week at summer camp they hadn't left a single mark or caused him any discomfort. My son usually wears 1.5 inch tennis shoes. I could get two summers out of them! **fingers crossed** I would recommend going down a size if your child wears a half size.
