Clogged and dropped water pressure!

I can't believe this is a proprietary filter! These filters are terrible. They don't filter out iron, rust particles or odors, after the change we had to install a water softener. After we started using the water softener everything was fine for a week when the water pressure suddenly dropped. Completely contradictory, at best we were getting about a gallon per minute per faucet at a time, sometimes we had a trickle or the faucet was completely dry. We bought a brand new pressure tank and setup

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Insecure

This product is subject to change

I've been using these filters successfully since 2012 on a subscription basis and I'm saving. There are ten filters in total. However, the last two I received exploded, pouring charcoal down my plumbing and forcing me to clear the valves in all my sinks and toilets, as well as the water inlets on my washing machine and water heater. My water pressure is within acceptable limits. At first I thought I just had a bad filter run, but I noticed the last two were labeled differently. All previous…

Pros
  • Decent performance

The filter has been working properly since 2013

At home we cleaned city water. cloudy, with a strong chlorine taste. In 2013 I bought a Culligan RFC-BBSA filter and canister. I installed a filter in the kitchen cold water supply. Installation was a challenge due to the downsizing of the pipes but it works well and has worked well for the past 6 years. No other water in the house is filtered because we rarely drink water from other faucets like the sink or shower. The filter delivered the taste of filtered cold water for drinking, coffee and…

Very important! in Water Filtration and Softeners

We live in rural Idaho where there is a lot of rust, sediment and minerals in the water. We had to install a water treatment system and install a whole house filter before it enters the water treatment system, hoping to extend the life of the expensive treatment system. I bought a similar filter monthly from Home Depot for $32 each. We live about 60 miles from the shop so it looked like the filter would clog at the worst possible moment and we'd have to go for a new one. I found and tried this…

Pros

It fell apart during installation and black crap came out.

This is my second auto-delivered filter. We bought this filter from another retailer before trying it at Revain. The first item I ordered worked great so I put them on autoship and got the first one within a week or so. Luckily we haven't used it yet. a while. Hubby tried to install the one we got over the weekend last week and WHAT a mess. It had some kind of black beads or charcoal in it. Husband called it a bead blaster. They came out during installation and were covered with everything…

Pros
  • Superior Filtration: Reduces particles larger than 25 microns in diameter at a flow rate of 3 GPM to reduce sediment, rust, scale, dirt, silt, sand and even very fine sand and the pleasant taste and odor of chlorine.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

NSF Certified Types Only and Warning

This seems like a good filter, although I was disappointed with their claim to be NSF certified. The NSF certification only covers the materials used and does not make any claims about what the filter does. My water smells better, which is why I still give it 4 stars. I'll upload photos of the front and back of the product insert if you'd like to read them. Be careful when removing the plastic wrap from the filter as there are two washers at the top and bottom which are easy to lose. The…

Pros
  • Shelf Life: Replace filter every 3 months or 10,000 gallons. Water with a high sediment and solids content will shorten the life of the filter. Replacement often helps prolong the life of pipes and water-using equipment.
