Couldn't be happier.

This hitch was a perfect match for my 1990 long cab short bed Chevy 2WD. The spare wheel needs to be moved forward a bit, but there is enough space for that. The clutch fits snugly against the footpeg bumper and only the receiver is visible. I didn't have to drill, all the screws were the right length. Also, I ordered it on Thursday evening and it arrived on Saturday morning. Couldn't be happier.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Empty

It docked with my 96 C2500 as advertised with no problems. I didn't notice that when I bought it, but I'm very disappointed with the safety circuits on this device. It's rated for 12,000 pounds of pull, but the safety chain lugs probably couldn't handle more than 3,000 pounds. I don't like throwing a chain around the handlebars every time I want to tow.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • Protection

Best coated, cleanest looking towbars

Curt MFG towbars are simply the highest quality, best coated and cleanest looking towbars around. It pulls much tighter than my truck's factory hitch and has a 10,000lb capacity, which is rare for a 2-inch Class IV hitch. Comes with quality grade 8 hardware, self-locking nuts and plated frame spacers For the price, you really can't beat it. Every car I own that carries a hitch, Kurt carries it.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Negative impression

Chain loops are a weak point, but not a critical factor.

Can't complain, honestly I'm not a big fan of chain hooks, but they're only there as a last resort. I might step them up in the future, but it certainly won't break the deal. Ignore other reviews of guys where he tried to chop down a tree or what he did to bend shit out of chain loops. IT IS NOT INTENDED FOR THAT! Overall, this clutch is very well made and fits perfectly! I rest almost daily with my 93 K2500 6.5.

  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great after a little persuasion!

Comes in a LARGE plastic bubble wrap! So it took a few hits while pounding on different delivery vehicles! Both sides were slightly curved at the front attachment points. So the mounting holes were GONE! Be ready to take a sledgehammer to bang the ends straight out. Not too difficult to fix; leaned back easier than I expected. However, I had to drill one of the rear mounting holes to get the screw in. After a little persuasion, he stood up perfectly. Viewed from behind, the receiver port is…

Simple, one man's work

Curt 14081 fitted to a 1994 Chevrolet K1500. Shipping without packaging, with attached postal sticker. Fasteners are supplied in a pouch that securely attaches to the hitch. Requires only one 19mm head for the aftermarket bolts (4) and one 18mm head for the two factory bolts. I had to move the lights ground wire bolt about an inch, others may not. Save time and remove the spare tire because once the hitch is in place, the tire will move forward about two inches. The man who said the hitch was…

At least I didn't screw everything up.

I traded my OEM class 3 clutch for this class 4. To put it mildly, I'm not impressed. The safety chain loops are junk. I assume they are for emergencies. I don't see her like that. These are attachment points for dragging things. Mine are now very elongated and point backwards. I bent them both and tried to make them the same. The OEM clutch (Class III) has been subjected to much worse testing for more than 20 years. The clutch was installed in about a week. Installation was easy. The main pipe

It appears to be well made with quality materials.

It seems well made with quality materials, but the installation is not a drop. It is listed as fitting my 1995 GMC C2500 truck. Almost, but not quite. I can fit the bolts on one side, and if I leave them a bit loose, I get 1/8" to 1/4" out of the slots in the hitch to line up with the holes in the frame on the other side. I don't have a router or grinder so I take this to the shop so they extend the slots on each side of the hitch so I can bolt it on. It probably cost me $30-50. This is…
