Works with some rattling

Works well on first use, can be upgraded after some wear. Although anti-vibration is mentioned there. The rubber pad does not move and does not prevent rattling well. However, this is not a big problem for me.

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • I won't comment

No it's not perfect, yes it's great.

Yes, it's a bit welded, but that doesn't matter. It is welded all around and very durable. The coverage is better than I thought it would be and for the price wow. If you have OCD and need perfection, spend $300 on another brand, but don't complain about this ball mount, it's an amazing value.

Not as bad as some say

Reading the reviews on this product made me nervous as it was made abroad etc. It arrived yesterday in perfect condition with no scratches or dents. I checked fitment and alignment based on comments from other reviewers and this part is well finished with good welds and thorough powder coating. The parts are even aligned as they should be, there is no ball mount misalignment on this unit. I'm expecting a bit of rattling due to the design, but overall I'm happy with it. I'll look at the ball…

Very wobbly and loose in the receiver

I got this with my Curt 45900 (which has its own fit issues) and it has a lot of play in the receiver and the adjustable ball mount has come loose on the clutch itself. This causes a really annoying rumble and bounce as well as a lot of play when towing. I need to tweak something so it doesn't rattle when I keep using it. I bought it to avoid a wobbly mount, but as it turns out I could just buy another brand's $30 model and have the same issues for half the price.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Only available in black

cheap metal on exterior accessories

This suits my needs very well as I lug a few things at different heights. It would be 5 if the locking screw could be used in the lowest position with the block upside down. Good product, durable, easy to use and set up, well made. Update December 2017: I am changing my review and rating: When trying to pull my pontoon trailer out of the lake it got stuck on the ramp. When we tried to lift it with some extra pressure on the car accelerator, the pin holding the top of the ball joint ripped…

Reliable and easy to set up - I modified it to make it quiet.

Sure rattles and rattles instantly, it's an adjustable hitch. There's no set screw to prevent rattling (probably due to stripping discomfort), but there's a rubber bumper to help. Personally, I removed the pressure bumper and screwed two round rubber "footpads" onto the back of the ball. Attachment section that abuts against the clutch channel. I also added thin rubber pads to each side of the ball mount to prevent lateral rattling in the channel. For the pins I added a layer of transparent 3M…

  • There are other interesting options.

Affordable flexible heavy duty towbar

Beautifully made heavy duty adjustable towbar. A potential problem is that if your car has redundant warning sensors (depending on how it's installed), the sensors will trip due to that massive clutch. This happened to my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I could use a third set of mounting holes on the receiver tube to bring the hitch 2" closer to my bumper. easily removed (I think stolen). However, depending on the alignment of the coupling and the installation height, the bolt must not touch the back of…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Welded crookedly! Be sure to check in as soon as you arrive!

Too bad. The pipe coupling part was great, I like the setup and the damper padding (although I'm not sure how long the damper will last), it had a good finish and decent welds. And it looked nice and square. The ball joint is a different story as other reviewers have written, it is welded crooked! How do they come off the line welded so crooked? I have had many short turns and problems over the years and have never welded anything directly? I assume the attachment went wrong at the factory? I…
