Very strong construction and quality connections

This worked well to add solar connections to the outside of my caravan. I had to make my own protective covers for the connectors. Because the connectors face down, dirt and spatter can get into the connectors on the trailer, so I grabbed some spare solar connectors, sealed one end with silicone sealant, and used them as caps when my solar panels weren't plugged in. It would be nice to include some weatherproof covers with the panel.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Fits

Exactly what I needed. Well done.

This was the perfect part to attach to the top of the junction box to connect additional parallel panels. Easy to integrate, but make sure the WAGO connectors are rated for the amperage you intend to use; In my case this wasn't the case so I just took them off and attached them directly to my hoop. I put sealant on the outside to weatherproof it and had to drill holes for the screws as there aren't any.

Didn't work for my application

This seemed like a solid product but for my use it was almost impossible to get it to work. I wanted to install this in my RV in the cargo hatch. Connecting and disconnecting wires inside the sunroof would have been very difficult and was not at all the reason for the purchase. I wanted to make it easier to connect solar panel cables. I'm sure they would do a good job on the outside of the RV, but I wasn't planning on drilling holes in the walls to run cables. This item has proven to be very…

Parts and accessories for solar and wind energy

And guess what - I don't care, and neither do you. Solid and well designed, it does what you want - it hides the exposed cable entry point. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the case has outlines for screw holes, but no holes (no point drilling yourself); and the case has a channel on the back that *seems* to be used for caulking or caulking. For my application where the case plugs into the board to flush mount, a pad on the back would be ideal. I have no idea what this…

Great way to channel solar energy

Got it about a day ago and installed it today. Aside from drilling a 3/4" hole in the skin of my workshop/warehouse, installation was easy. I applied a bead of clear silicone caulk (sealant) around the outside edge as there is no gasket. Based on personal experience with outdoor devices and ports that leave small holes or openings open, I suspect I'll put something detachable in the two unused ports to keep lonely bugs from stuffing them with dead bugs for their unbeatable eggs . This is a…

Great solution for solar and wind energy

I built what is called a "solar generator" and was looking for a way to connect my solar panels to it. I used a large universal box with wheels for my generator and didn't want any other connector for my panels. I wanted to stick with the MC4 to keep cables and adapters to a minimum. This connector was the perfect solution. It's so easy to install and comes pre-wired with 10 AWG cable and quick connectors rated up to 50 amps. I just installed it on the side of the box and connected it to the…
