I am a beginner in soap making and didn't want to invest in a wire cutter as it can be expensive. On the other hand, I still wanted something good to practice my soap making. It is durable, easy to use and clean.

I'm new to soap making and this was perfect. I just made my first batch and the flexible shape made it fairly easy to remove the block after 24 hours. It is also very easy to cut. I will be ordering more so I have more than one bar of soap at a time.

When I received the item, there was a small crack at the bottom of the wooden mold. It didn't seem that bad. Looked pretty workable but when I used it a few days later it split and separated completely. I repaired the tear with wood glue and a clamp as it wasn't worth returning as the item is no longer in stock. However, annoyed and disappointed.

I used to use silicone molds but wanted one that could have multiple refills. I also needed a new cutter and there were two in the kit. And the wooden tray is perfect for cutting. All in all, this is a great little set. If you're just starting out, you'll really use it. But like all silicone molds, it retains scents, so you may need one for unscented soap and another for scented soap.
