My 7 year old son loves to wear shorts. They work great to keep him warm in shorts in 20 degree temperatures. He just walks from the car to school so I don't know how long they keep him warm and for how long. I bought him a size 7 in these

Bought these for my 4 year old to wear under hockey gear. The waist fits perfectly, you can wear a hockey net over it. The length is big enough. It could still be 2-4 inches longer in the leg and that would be fine. They keep him warm on ice.

My son loves wearing them under his shorts. don't know why, but whatever. They are comfortable and soft. Warm enough to keep your feet warm but not hot. So far they've held up well. I wouldn't consider them thermal though as I don't think they would be warm enough on a really cold day.

This is our second pair. These are thin leggings. This is an extra layer. They aren't as bulky as some other brands of cold weather gear, just consider that. They are as thin as spandex (if I can date myself). My son likes to wear them to soccer when the weather is cool.

SURE little work! I had a premonition so I bought 2 sizes and the larger one fit. just for your information. My son is 11 years old, usually 10-12. (very average build for his age) He ended up wearing a larger size. My other son is 12 almost 13 and VERY skinny (waist and legs) and both sizes fit him.
