Does the job but is difficult to tighten

Stabilizer does the job - stabilized my 2" connection to my hitch by 1.5" - but the bolts were difficult to tighten and hold. However, I had a wrench handy and turned it in every now and then and it worked great.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Easily repairable

The perfect silencer!

This stabilizer bar comes exactly as shown. I've had this on my hitch that holds a wheelchair lift in the back of my car for a few weeks. It is very stable and never wobbles. I'm so glad I didn't have to listen to the rumblings I had before I got this!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Minor issues

Unusable product suitable for outdoor accessories

I sent it back I didn't have to pay for the return shipping. This product is useless. Installed exactly according to the instructions and still like without moving. With the current attachment points, it is not possible to remove the rattle due to the design. Don't waste your time.

Pros
  • trial period for one year
Cons
  • unreliable

Poor design, won't stay in place no matter how you put it on

The whole thing slips so much it almost comes off with a snap of your fingers when tested. All hitches have an eyelet that you can use to prevent it from falling off, but that doesn't include it. Now this might work better with 2 inches, but I used this with a converter that increases it from 1 1/4 to 2. Purchase at your own risk.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something different

DO NOT BUY. Bolts loosen quickly.

It was easy to install and work, but one of the nuts came loose before the end of the ride. DO NOT BUY THIS, GET ONE WITH TWO NUTS OR LOCK NUTS. I was lucky it didn't fall on the street. Other reviews mentioned this but I needed something fast and couldn't wait for the blockers to arrive. If you must use this, consider installing it upside down so the screws don't fall off when they loosen.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • I don't remember

Helps with noise reduction

I drive a 2013 Ford F-150 and it already had a receiver. I have a smaller trailer (8x10) that I use, but the hitch kept rattling while driving. The tiniest little bump made noise so I bought this to try and fix the problem. I installed it with ease and it has virtually eliminated the rattling when towing the trailer. The only thing I haven't done is haul something heavier like a 21ft bass so I'm not sure how it will hold up, but it works great with anything in the 500-1000lb range.

Why haven't I seen these yet? Problem solved.

Great stuff. I wish I hadn't seen them before as it really puts the hitch's mind at ease. I used to wrap my couplers in tape to keep them from rattling in the coupler pocket, but now I have a 4 bike bike rack and I didn't like that it wobbled a lot so I looked for ways to fix this problem and I came across on this device and realized how the heck it looks like it works. So I got it and put it on and now it won't come off. The tape is gone and everything is as quiet as it gets, as well as lessโ€ฆ

Slight rattle/movement before towing

I really liked the idea but didn't think this would become a common problem. Replacing your hitch starts with a simple pen, and now you have to carry around a 3/4 inch wrench. The tool provided is not strong enough to tighten the screws without deformation. Pretty good torque on the bolts and it seems like your problems are solved, no more grinding. However, if you connect the trailer and pull it a bit, you will most likely find that it is loose again and sways. It would be nice if theyโ€ฆ
