A great way to comply with local laws without adding an illuminated frame or extra lights. The lights themselves look good both on and off. Please note that you will need additional tools and materials for assembly. Shrink, crimp/solder and you need to connect to your wiring harness. Nothing complicated, but nothing but wires sticking out from the back.

The wire/light is attached to the outer "cover". This means that you have to route the cable through the license plate during installation. This also means you have to disconnect the cable and thread the entire cable back through the label to change the label. The previous one I had was just a cap with a light and the wire snapped off. I love these lights. It's such a simple and elegant solution at a great price. Before installing this pair in a custom plate mount I made, I installed the set on a trailer trailer that was fender mounted. They survived 2 winters in the salt belt so pretty solid. The wires are thin, the LEDs hardly draw any current. First off these lights appear to be very well made, I love everything about them EXCEPT the length of the threaded rod to screw on. My trailer has a fairly thick metal rail, plus a number plate and a decorative frame to protect the number plate. You surprised me I must say. I had them on my car for over 4 months, I had to get them because my rear inch bumper didn't have a license plate cut out. They are very bright and do exactly what they say. The wires are thin, but that's to be expected. I had a lot of stuff between the light and the backplate. Reversing camera, license plate frame, license plate and finally the license plate holder. My bracket has nuts welded to it, which is both a good thing and a bad thing, but it's more on the bad side for me. LOVE the brightness and attaches well to the license plate but there is a problem. ONE con that might make me NOT use this again. The cables are SMALL and easily broken when connected to an existing wiring harness. I had big problems because the wires were too small to use a wire clamp. I wouldn't connect, I wouldn't cut the insulation, just squeeze through the slot without touching it. I couldn't use a really small one since the existing wiring was about 16ga.
