Stylish and portable scanner!

I've had another Czur scanner, the Czur Aura Pro, for about 20 months now. Love it! As a scientist, I keep scanning objects for my research, teaching and yes, also for my official work. I have recommended it to my colleagues over and over again. I jumped at the opportunity to purchase the Czur Shine Ultra for its advanced features. It's smaller and lighter than the Czur Aura Pro (weighing just 2.2 pounds), so it's just as light and packable as a thin laptop. Both scan up to A3 (European paperโ€ฆ

Easy to use. More flexible lighting can be used

This scanner is easy to set up and use. To set up, simply connect the included USB cable to the scanner and your computer's USB port. Once connected, I downloaded the latest drivers and software from the manufacturer's website. They come on a CD that came with the scanner, but I always check websites for updates so I just downloaded the software while I was there. The scanner is just a camera, mounted on an L-shaped stand with the lever protruding from the scanning area. Next to the camera areโ€ฆ

I really, really wanted this, but it had some real problems.

I have many old books that I would like to read on my Kindle when he is not at home that are not available in this format. I thought this scanner might be the way to get them in Kindle format so I decided to give it a try. I was SUPER impressed with the look of the device when it arrived. very nicely packaged, and the processing of the device appears to be of high quality. However, the first snag I encountered was with installing software. I used the CD that came with it, entered the longโ€ฆ
