Good entry-level camera

The only drawback of this camera is the very short battery life. I had to buy a replacement part. For the price, this camera has an amazing array of features that will help even a novice photographer take great pictures. I bought it to replace my old Nikon D40 which finally broke after 10 years of intensive use (80,000+ photos). The battery that came with the D40 held a much better charge even after 10 years, so I'd like to see Nikon come back with a better battery that can be used for a longer

Check the little things that brighten up the reviews

D5600 boring look. I have owned many Nikon cameras and this is the first time that it seems that Nikon has not been entirely honest with the product. After carefully reading the reviews, I was surprised to find that the information in the viewfinder was very dim and difficult to read. Having already adjusted the diopters, I figured there was a way to fix this among the D5600's many settings. However, after downloading the manual and searching the internet for almost a day, no solution was…

Great travel camera

I've only had the camera for a few weeks but so far I like it. The controls are very easy to use and it takes good bright shots. SnapBridge works very well with the iPhone. The LCD display is great for checking how your camera is set up and clearly shows the most important shooting options. Videos are surprisingly sharp and clear, which is a big improvement over the videos I shot with the Nikon D70. I must add that the images captured with the D5600 are noticeably cleaner and brighter than…

Excellent entry-level DSLR

I recently purchased this entry-level DSLR to learn more about photography and improve my skills. Below is my full review. Pros: 1. Image quality: The 24.2 megapixel sensor delivers crisp, clear images compared to other entry-level models2. Touchscreen interface. The touchscreen interface is convenient to use in-camera, and switching between images is smooth and easy. The large touchscreen really helps with aperture and shutter settings, and the flip function is also very handy.3. SnapBridge…

My last Nikon for digital cameras

I have had a Nikon since 1962 but this will probably be my last. In 2018, we're about to embark on an extended journey, and we need a camera with a large sensor that easily connects to a smartphone and tablet for sharing and backup. Nikon lets you use their Snapbridge app for both. Using the bluetooth side to take pictures was incredibly tedious and required "forgetting" the camera multiple times to reconnect. Never could connect to Wi-Fi. I'd like Wi-Fi only, but all connections require…

Great mid-range pro camera

I bought this camera as an upgrade to my d5100 (which I have also loved for the last 5 years). I use my cameras almost exclusively for macro shots of bugs, frogs, plants, etc. and occasionally use a telescopic lens for larger or hard-to-reach critters. These photos were taken in manual mode with a Tokina 100mm macro lens and only the first spider image I posted was edited or cropped. one can only say good things about him. Going from Nikon's previous iteration, there's little to no learning…
