I LOVE IT. I have two bathrooms; one with all matte gold fittings, one with all matte black. Except for the bath drain element in both, which gleams silver. I wanted to spend about $15 each on drain caps (for aesthetic reasons and also to catch all my long hair) and I'm so glad I only bought two of these! I used Krylon spray paint on both and they look GREAT! I've been using it for about a month now, so far so good. The lid definitely prevents hair from going down the drain.

This strainer is perfect for the drain hole in my kitchen sink. I have a double sink and use it for half the sink under the sink because it sits in a recess and doesn't move. (On the other half of my double sink I can use other types of heavier filters because I can keep an eye on them if they try to move.) First of all, this product works really well as a hair strainer, although it's uncomfortable and not very neat and lies flat over the shower drain so maybe if you wiggle the bottom part long enough it may flatten out, or it may be better to leave it as is; this will probably work just fine.
