Description of DANIEL SMITH Extra Watercolor Bordeaux

DANIEL SMITH is the Innovative Manufacturer of Beautiful Watercolors for Artists Worldwide, and makes the largest range of watercolors of any manufacturer, more than 240 colors. The 240+ color collection includes the exciting PrimaTek watercolors made from minerals (like Amethyst) plus other unique colors (like Moonglow) not available elsewhere, and Luminescent Watercolors which allow artists to capture the luminescent colors that exist in nature that regular watercolors cannot capture!. A durable, staining azo pigment, Bordeaux is a velvety wine color. Its slightly granular, semi-transparent properties work well with blotting, misting and salt application techniques. Replace lifeless, muddy mixtures with this pigment! Try painting a scattering of cranberries with Bordeaux mixed with small touches of Anthraquinoid Red or French Ultramarine. Blot highlights and when dry, add details such as blossoms or stem ends of berries. Then add a connective shadow. Very Good Lightfastness, Semi-transparent, Non-granulating, Medium staining. PV 32. Conforms to ASTM D4236.

Beautiful Radiant Violet

This watercolor creates a stunning, rich, and radiant violet that adds depth to any painting. The pigment is high quality, creates a smooth finish, and mixes beautifully with other colors. PERFECT for artists looking to add warmth to their Arts and Crafts. The only con is that its quite expensive, but the quality justifies the price..

Pros
  • Bordeaux color is ideal for adding richness and depth to paintings; transparent and easy to work with on different surfaces.
Cons
  • The intensity of the Bordeaux pigment may overwhelm other colors in a painting and make it difficult to create subtle color variations.

"Vibrant Watercolor Must-Have for Arts and Crafts!

This red watercolor is perfect for adding a pop of color to any painting. Through trial and error I found that a little bit goes a long way, which makes it a great value... The pigment is highly concentrated, ensuring that it will last a long time. The only downside is that it can be difficult to mix with other colors, but that’s a minor drawback when you consider the benefits of such a high-quality watercolor. overall, this is a must-have for any artist or crafter!

Pros
  • High-quality pigment produces rich, deep color
Cons
  • May require careful dilution to achieve desired shade

Very good watercolor paint

Excellent paint. They say you get what you pay for and I'm glad I chose this color. We used burgundy as a watercolor to decorate our wedding invitations. diluted it to look like a wine stain, dipped the stem of a small glass in, and stamped the invites. It looked amazing and people thought it was real wine lol.

Pros
  • DANIEL SMITH is an innovative manufacturer of beautiful watercolor paints for artists worldwide and produces the largest selection of watercolor paints of any manufacturer with over 240 colours. The collection of over 240 colors includes stunning PrimaTek watercolors made from minerals (like amethyst) as well as other unique colors (like moonlight) not available elsewhere, and vibrant watercolors that allow artists to capture the vibrant colors of nature that cannot be let play normally watercolors!
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
