Description of DANIEL SMITH Watercolor Indian Yellow

DANIEL SMITH is the Innovative Manufacturer of Beautiful Watercolors for Artists Worldwide, and makes the largest range of watercolors of any manufacturer, more than 240 colors. The 240+ color collection includes the exciting PrimaTek watercolors made from minerals (like Amethyst) plus other unique colors (like Moonglow) not available elsewhere, and Luminescent Watercolors which allow artists to capture the luminescent colors that exist in nature that regular watercolors cannot capture!. Don't let the old line "made from the urine of cows fed an exclusive diet of mango leaves" deter you from adding Indian Yellow to your palette; DANIEL SMITH's vat pigmented Indian Yellow is a new formula. This medium to high tinting yellow lends a rusty orange edge to undisturbed puddles, a curious property when painting ripe fruit and vegetation. Autumn leaves and floral close-ups make great study subjects as you explore this pure chroma, ever so slightly granular yellow. Indian Yellow wets well and flows evenly. Excellent Lightfastness, Transparent, Non-granulating, Low staining. PY 97, PY 150. Conforms to ASTM D4236.

Disappointing Quality for Price

I purchased this watercolor expecting high-quality pigment but was left disappointed with the result. Although it did mix well with other colors, it lacked vibrancy and depth when used alone .As someone who has been practicing arts and crafts for years, I expected better for the price point. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, i can confidently say there are better options available in the market..

Pros
  • Mixes well with other colors.
Cons
  • Lack of vibrancy and depth, Price point is high.

Vibrant and Versatile Watercolor

As a lover of Arts and Crafts, I recently tried an Indian Yellow watercolor from one of my favorite brands. As a result of using this product, I found that it is incredibly vibrant and versatile. With just a few brush strokes, I was able to create a range of hues from warm oranges to sunny yellows. The paint also blended beautifully, giving me the freedom to experiment and create unique effects. The only downside is that it's slightly pricier compared to other paint brands, but the quality is…

Pros
  • Vibrant and lightfast color that adds warmth and brightness to any painting.
Cons
  • Some artists may find the paint to be too powdery and difficult to mix.

Looks like a used item

This is not an overview of the DS inks themselves, but an overview of the condition of the product. I bought this tube because the price seems good compared to other online stores. However, the tube of paint was dented (like my other watercolor tube purchases from Revain). I realize this is difficult to avoid but this example looks used and returned and Revain is selling it again. Shouldn't it be a completely NEW article? If the price has been reduced due to its condition I would like to know…

Pros
  • Art, drawing and artist supplies
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
