I purchased this product after purchasing a similar product that was poorly made. This product is great for attaching tags and returns in shape unlike a previous purchase I made. Definitely recommend.

The product description says "Brass base metal, gold finish". However, they are magnetic, which means the base metal is steel. They are strong and I imagine they will be good for some purposes. However, I need small split rings for outdoor use. Eventually they will rust. Also note that 6mm diameter rings are tiny. Rings can be opened with a fingernail, but it is very difficult to do so and insert anything. I will find a use for them, but not what I intended. If I were looking for plated rings I
